![]() Think of it as the "Shotgun Effect." Fuso, Lyon are examples. There's a number of Battleships in this game with terrible 1.5 or 1.6 Sigma, but people still love them because they have lots of guns. Pommern has trash 1.5 Sigma, but with 12 shells flying, that's compensation. She may miss, but with reload that is similar to Super Cruiser reloads, she can try again sooner rather than later. Of course, the nice thing with FDG is again, that fast reload. Despite that 1.8 Sigma, firing only 8 shells max leaves lots of room for RNG to screw her over. The problem for FDG is that she only has 8 guns. She also has 1.8 Sigma, vs the 1.5 of Pommern. Pommern with MBM3 reloads at about 29 seconds. If FDG is using MBM3 the reloads are very good, especially if staying with the 406mm guns, would reload at 20.32 seconds. High Tier German and USN Heavy Cruisers with their 27mm bows cannot face tank your 16" AP the way they do against 381mm or smaller AP. Small baby thread hijack here, isn't the FDG better than the Pommern just without torps, which in turn makes getting close better for the Pommern?įDG has larger 406mm or 420mm guns which have better Overmatch characteristics than 380mm. Had no idea how well the rear angles are compared to bow in! Thank you for this strategy.Īlso - Is it similar with to do this with GK, or do you recommend different approaches with that ship? I just experienced it purely by chance yesterday in ranked. I like this approach and was not using it. I don't know why people often complain about German BBs in general, I've liked most of them (despite playing them mostly when I was a potato). I've been having a lot of success with FDG, despite a rather subpar winrate my average damage is up to like 110k using primarily a secondary build mixed with a bit of survivability (Fire Prevention instead of Concealment which is up to debate and SI instead of BFT).įDG is a strong ship indeed, I really like it now. You have to punish those who overextend, you need to be close to the frontlines but not enough to get you killed real fast. A kiting FDG is a strong ship, the firing angles afaik are better when you're stern-first and you can use your secondary armament to back you up in the fight. Pretty much what said, when I start my engagements in FDG I do it FIRST behind an island, so I can use it to position myself (and a protective measure against torps as well). ![]()
